"The Path" had a good run for three seasons. But there will not be a fourth.

Hulu has canceled the cult drama, creator Jessica Goldberg and star Aaron Paul confirmed. They're taking the angle of not crying because it's over, but smiling because it happened for three years:

Goldberg also shared a longer statement (via TVLine):

"While it's sad that The Path is ending, I'm brimming with gratitude and pride. It was a gift to be able to tell challenging and emotional stories for three seasons in this very strange and unique world. The caliber of talent and passion everyone who worked on this show brought — from my partners Jason Katims and Michelle Lee, the execs at Hulu, the writers, actors, directors, designers, and crew — was something to behold, and for which I'm very thankful. Thanks Hulu and Universal Television for taking a shot on this show; it was a life-changing experience."

Fans of "The Path" -- which also starred Hugh Dancy and Michelle Monaghan -- are now sad themselves to think the story won't continue. They're also frustrated at what they feel was an unfinished ending. But "Better Call Saul" fans are now hoping this frees Aaron Paul up for a Jesse Pinkman cameo.
