A pair of Oscar winners will be joining the cast of the upcoming threequel "John Wick: Chapter 3," with Halle Berry and Anjelica Huston among the just-announced additions to the ensemble.

After releasing a splashy motion poster last week celebrating the one-year countdown to the film's opening day, the movie's social media team also revealed several high-profile castings on Monday, led by Berry and Huston. While we don't have the details yet about just who their characters are, we do know that they'll be named Sofia and The Director, respectively.

It's a date. 5.17.19

Berry's casting got the most attention from the "John Wick" team, suggesting Sofia will be a key part of the action this time around. Other new faces joining the team for "Chapter 3" are Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, and Jason Mantzoukas.

The franchise follows Keanu Reeves and the titular assassin, and this third -- and likely final -- film will pick up right where the second left off. Here's the official synopsis:

"John Wick is on the run for two reasons... he's being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental's manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he's "Excommunicado" – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City."

Also returning for the third outing are Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick. "John Wick: Chapter 3" opens on May 17, 2019.
