Damn, girl. You really killed it.

"The Nun" is the fifth film in The Conjuring Universe, and it had the best opening weekend of them all.

It also had bad reviews and the lowest CinemaScore (C) of them all. But horror films are known to be critic-proof, and nuns are scary AF in real life. So who could resist?

"The Nun" prayed and slayed its way to $53.5 million for its opening weekend, beating the previous Conjuring Universe records by a lot -- the three-day tally of $41.8M for "The Conjuring," and $40.4 million for the sequel,  "The Conjuring 2."

Worldwide, "The Nun" is already at $131 million.

At that's on a reported production budget of $22 million.

No wonder studios love to make these movies! As Warner Bros.' domestic distribution boss Jeff Goldstein put it:

"This Sunday is a Holy Day at Warner Bros., we are truly blessed."

Warner Bros. has been crushing the late summer box office, with "The Meg," "Crazy Rich Asians," and now "The Nun."

Speaking of those movies, "Crazy Rich Asians" dropped from the top of the box office for the first time since it opened. But it didn't drop far, it took No. 2 on the Sept. 7-9 chart, with an estimated $13.6 million.

Jennifer Garner's "Peppermint" -- which is an R-rated action thriller, despite the minty fresh title and lead star -- was close behind at No. 3 with $13.26 million.

The rest of the top 10 went to "The Meg," "Searching," "Mission: Impossible - Fallout," "Christopher Robin," "Operation Finale," "Alpha," and "BlacKkKlansman."

The other new movie to open this week, "God Bless the Broken Road," took No. 11 with $1.56 million from 1,272 theaters.

What's next?

There's actually a lot coming next Friday, Sept. 14 -- whether to your local multiplex or not is the question -- including "The Predator," "A Simple Favor," "Final Score," "Mandy," and "White Boy Rick.
