Ho, ho, ho? Mel Gibson is set to play a "rowdy, unorthodox" Santa Claus in the dark comedy "Fatman."
The project will be looking for buyers at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival market. Filming is scheduled to begin in early 2020.
"Fatman" finds Santa battling business decline. After receiving a lump of coal in his stocking, a neglected and precocious 12-year-old named Billy hires a hit man to kill Kris Kringle.
The movie comes from writing/directing brother duo Ian and Eshom Nelms ("Small Town Crime," "Waffle Street").
Gibson can next be seen this weekend opposite Sean Penn in "The Professor and the Madman."
