Busy "Aquaman" and "The Conjuring" director James Wan just announced another new project: He will executive produce and direct the debut episode of the upcoming Netflix series "The Magic Order."

The show was created at Netflix by Mark Millar, who then turned it into a comic book series illustrated by Olivier Coipel.

"The Magic Order" is about five families of magicians who must battle an enemy who’s picking them off one by one. By day, they are ordinary neighbors, friends, and co-workers, but by night they are the sorcerers, magicians, and wizards that protect us from forces of darkness. It's Netflix's first comic book series.

Wan is executive producing the series with Millar. Lindsey Beer, whose credits include the Netflix movie "Sierra Burgess Is a Loser," will serve as showrunner.

Also on Wan's to-do list: Directing "Aquaman 2," a remake of Stephen King's "Salem's Lot," and executive producing the DC Universe streaming series "Swamp Thing."

Look for "The Magic Order" sometime in 2020 or later.
