With four episodes left in "Baskets" Season 4, the comedy series is winding down.

FX announced Wednesday that the current season is the final one. The Aug. 22 episode will be the series finale, as Variety reports. That means fans will have to say goodbye to twins Chip and Dale (both played by Zach Galifianakis) as well as the rest of the Baskets family.

"This show has been a joy for everyone at FX and we are grateful to Jonathan Krisel, Zach Galifianakis, Louie Anderson, Martha Kelly and the rest of the cast and crew for giving us the gem that is 'Baskets,'" said FX Entertainment President Eric Schrier in a statement.

"Baskets" premiered in 2016 and it has led to multiple awards nominations for both Galifianakis and his onscreen mother, Anderson (Christine). Anderson won both a Critics' Choice Television Award and a Primetime Emmy Award that first year. They each scored Emmy nods the following year, and Anderson did in 2018 as well. They'll each have one more chance with Season 4.

Galifianakis co-created "Baskets" alongside Krisel and Louis C.K.; however, C.K. lost his co-creator and executive producer credits after admitting he was guilty of certain acts of sexual misconduct in late 2017. He was no longer involved with the series after that point.

The show's end is sad news for fans, but it's not over yet. "Baskets" airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
