The films continue the stories about the mysterious medicine seller, as he continues to face various dangerous spirits, known as the mononoke. Armed with a sharp wit, a keen intellect, and his Exorcism sword, the Medicine Seller wanders from place to place, striking down the evil spirits in his wake. The Mononoke Film Project is planned to consist of three films: The first film, titled Mononoke the Movie: Phantom in the Rain, was released on July 26, 2024; the second film, titled Mononoke the Movie: The Ashes of Rage, was released on March 14, 2025; and the third film is set to release in Q2 2026.
