‘The Naked Gun’: Liam Neeson Comedy Sequel is Loaded with Solid Laughs. The fresh take on the spoof series –– which follows the Leslie Nielsen-starring movies of the 1980s and 1990s –– is a worthy successor full of good gags. Comedy has been having a tough old time of it on the big screen of late. While veterans such as Adam Sandler has largely moved his output to Netflix or other streamers the genre has generally been seen as too unreliable (and worse, unprofitable) for theatrical release.
