The band's music is firmly rooted in Moravian tradition, spiced with folk influences, rock energy, and metal riffs, combined with elements of world music. Tomáš Kočko & Orchestr was born out of the verses of Ladislav Nezdařil, a Moravian poet from Wallachia. In 1999, Tomáš Kočko & Orchestr released their debut album "Horní chlapci" with his lyrics set to music, for which Nezdařil chose the dialect of the Moravian Wallachians as his poetic language.
