6 Force Friday Toys That Live Up to the Hype
It's official! Star Wars mania is back in full swing. The seventh installment of the sci-fi franchise won't hit theaters until Dec. 18, but fans are already getting their first taste of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," thanks to this week's marketing blitz.
The festivities kicked off on Thursday with a global unboxing event, where new Star Wars toys were streamed live on YouTube in 15 different cities over an 18-hour time span. The following day, Disney unleashed “Force Friday,” a marketing bonanza where retailers – including Toys “R” Us, Amazon, Disney Stores and Target – introduced never-before-seen movie tie-ins like LEGO spaceships, talking action figure and remote control robots.
While fans anxiously tried to gleam clues about the upcoming film from the just-released movie merchandise, we took stock of the coolest toys and gadgets lining the shelves.
