While actress Alicia Vikander already has an Oscar under her belt (for 2015 historical drama "The Danish Girl"), she isn't exactly a household name just yet. That's about to change, though, with her upcoming starring role in the "Tomb Raider" reboot, in which she plays the titular archaeologist. And with the leak of some new set photos from the currently-in-production shoot, it's clear that Vikander was the right choice for the physically demanding role.

The images, obtained by paparazzi camped out near the film's South Africa set, show Vikander shooting what looks like an intense action sequence atop a metal beam. The actress can be seen running, climbing, and crawling across the structure, as well as swinging underneath it, all while secured by a safety harness (which we assume will be edited out in post). It appears her hands are bound, too, suggesting this is some sort of escape sequence.

It looks like a grueling shoot, but it appears as if Vikander is more than holding her own. And she certainly looks the part of Lara, too, sporting a tight tank top, combat boots, and her dark hair pulled back.

Audiences will get to see the finished product when "Tomb Raider" hits theaters on March 16, 2018.
