Looks like tough guy Danny Trejo, star of the "Machete" films, is ready to hang up his knives.

The 71-year-old actor is developing  "Food & Familia," a sitcom for ABC based on his life, in which he'll also star.

The show is about a father who inherits the family restaurant after getting out of prison, according to The Wrap.

In real life, Trejo's prison time includes five years at San Quentin. And the restaurant biz angle is real as well: The actor has a restaurant chain called Trejo's Tacos in Los Angeles and Trejo's Coffee & Donuts.

Peter Murrietta "(Cristela," "Lopez" and Netflix's "One Day at a Time") is writing the script.

Besides "Machete," Trejo's roles include "Con Air," "Spy Kids," "Heat" and memorable appearances in TV shows including "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series," "Sons of Anarchy" and "Breaking Bad."
