"Captain Marvel" is already flying high at the box office after taking in an impressive $20.7 million in Thursday night domestic previews.

Marvel's first solo female superhero-led movie has also been killing it internationally since it opened in some countries Wednesday, raking in $44 million. And that doesn't include the estimated $34 million projected for opening day in China.

"Captain Marvel's" domestic preview total is the fifth highest in the MCU, behind only "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Avengers: Infinity War," "Black Panther" and "Captain America: Civil War." And it's the second-biggest for a movie centered on a new superhero behind "Black Panther"

Despite a negative campaign by online trolls (which led to Rotten Tomatoes changing its rating system), "Captain Marvel" is still on track to take in close to $150 million in its opening weekend.
