"Tyrant" will rule no more.

After three seasons following the Al-Fayeed family, FX announced that tonight's episode will be the final one for the Middle East-set drama.

"It's very difficult to find common ground with other people whose stories we do not know or understand. The creators of 'Tyrant' have done their utmost over three seasons to tell American audiences a tiny fraction of the many gripping, human stories coursing through the Middle East today," said FX chief John Landgraf in a statement.

"Tyrant" told the story of a doctor named Barry Al-Fayeed (Adam Rayner), who lives in the United States, exiled from his home country, the fictional Abuddin. But he's drawn back into family politics when his despotic father, the president, dies.

The show received mixed reviews and never really caught on in the ratings. Still, Fox 21 Television Studios hopes to shop the series around to other outlets.
