There's a revolving door of guest stars on "Grey's Anatomy," and Alex Landi is soon to walk through it.

The actor is taking on a recurring role in Season 15, TVLine reports. Landi's character, Dr. Nico Kim, is gay, male, and a surgeon, which is a first for the series. While there have been characters who are gay or bisexual on the show in the past, none of them have been male surgeons, according to TVLine.

So far, much of the information surrounding Landi's role is being kept under wraps. ABC confirmed his casting to TVLine but chose not to divulge other details, such as how long he'll be on the show. We do know, though, that Dr. Kim is one of at least two new faces at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Actor Chris Carmack will play an "ortho god" and apparently will be "bringing the sexy."

Landi acting resume is still growing, and this is his highest-profile role to date. He previously has had roles in the TV series "Childlike" and "Bull."

"Grey's Anatomy" returns Thursday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Season 15 will kick off with a two-hour episode.
