"Some of you will not be coming back," begins the trailer for Hulu's adaptation of "Catch-22." Some? More like many.

Hulu announced that May 17 will be the premiere date for all six episodes of the miniseries, which comes from producers George Clooney, Grant Heslov.

Based on Joseph Heller's seminal novel, the movie centers on Yossarian (Christopher Abbott), a U.S. Air Force bombardier in World War II who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him.

But his real problem is not the enemy, but rather his own army, which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service.

Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to avoid his military assignments, he’ll be in violation of Catch-22, a hilariously sinister bureaucratic rule.

Clooney and Heslov directed two episodes; the other two were directed by Ellen Kuras.

Clooney was also supposed to play Colonel Cathcart, Yossarian's commanding officer. He stepped back to focus on directing and producing, and Kyle Chandler took on the role. Clooney now plays Scheisskopf.
