The iconic Western Town portion of Paramount Ranch, where numerous television shows and movies have filmed, has burned down in the wildfire ripping through Southern California.

The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area tweeted the news that Western Town, most recently used as a set for HBO's "Westworld," was lost to the fast-moving Woolsey Fire, which has affected more than 14,000 acres and now threatens the city of Malibu.

Paramount Pictures first leased the ranch in 1927. It's been home to many productions, including "The Cisco Kid," "Gunsmoke," "The X-Files," "The Dukes of Hazzard," and "Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman."

"Westworld" used the location for many of its Main Street scenes, and the church on site was a particularly significant feature.

In a statement, HBO said, "Paramount Ranch was one of the locations used during seasons one and two of 'Westworld,' in addition to the primary location at Melody Ranch in Santa Clarita. 'Westworld' is not currently in production, and as the area has been evacuated, we do not yet know the extent of the damage to any structures remaining there."
