"Jane the Virgin" may be blessed with a spinoff.

The CW is developing a spinoff of the critically acclaimed dramedy, which will debut its fifth and final season in early 2019.

Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman, star Gina Rodriguez, and writer Valentina Garza are collaborating on the project, which will reportedly feature a new cast and follow a storyline from the flagship. However, there is no intention to air it as a backdoor pilot episode in the final season.

It's unclear if Rodriguez or any of her current castmates would make an appearance on the spinoff. There have been rumors for years that actor Jaime Camil's Rogelio would get his own show, but sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that he won't be the focus of this project.

"Jane the Virgin" has been one of The CW's most honored series, if not anywhere near the most-watched. It earned the network's first Golden Globe nomination and has also received notice from the Emmys and Peabody Awards.
