Khal Drogo of "Game of Thrones" and "Frontier's" Declan Harp have something in common.

Aside from being played by the same actor, Jason Momoa, they are both considered "savage" warriors by "civilized" agents who want to stop them at all costs.

Netflix debuted the trailer for its Canadian-made period drama "Frontier," set during the late 1700s. Momoa's Declan Harp is a half-Irish, half-Native American outlaw who battles the greedy traders who hold a monopoly on the fur trade. Those traders, meanwhile, plan to wipe Harp and his compatriots out.

It's a brutal world where "business negotiations might be resolved with close-quarter hatchet fights," as the official synopsis explains. And as one character says of Harp, "He's an animal. Killing him is not enough. You must make an example of him. You must make him suffer."

All six episodes of "Frontier" season 1 will begin streaming Jan. 20 on Netflix.
