Kevin Smith will be tapping into the Power of Grey Skull for a new He-Man anime series he's producing for Netflix.

The filmmaker revealed the surprise news to fans at Power-Con on Sunday that he is making "Masters of the Universe: Revelation," an original story based on the world of Mattel’s classic ’80s He-Man toy franchise.

Smith will serve as showrunner and executive producer of the series, which will continue unresolved storylines of the franchise and pick up the characters' journeys where they left off decades ago.

"I'm Eternia-ly grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for entrusting me with not only the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire Universe," Smith said in a statement.

"In 'Revelation,' we pick up right where the classic era left off to tell an epic tale of what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor! ... This is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!"

Netflix is also home to "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power." In the '80s series, She-Ra is the sister of He-Man. It's unclear if the two Netflix series will crossover.
