Fox hasn't totally forsaken "Lucifer" fans.

The network revealed May 11 that it had opted not to renew the series, leaving many of the show's followers hoping for a save. So far, no other network nor a streaming service has stepped in to be the hero. However, there is some good news: Fox plans to air two "bonus" episodes on May 28, per Deadline.

The "Lucifer" Season 3 finale aired May 14, and it ended on a huge cliffhanger, much to fans' dismay. The two bonus episodes will, unfortunately, not likely function as any kind of conclusion. They were filmed last spring and intended to be part of the show's fourth season. Still, bonus episodes are better than nothing.

And hope for a save isn't totally gone. Showrunner Joe Henderson is still doing what he can to make it happen. He tweeted "#SAVELUCIFER #PickupLucifer" after Fox's announcement about the two episodes set to air, so clearly he's not ready to toss in the towel.

The "Lucifer" bonus episodes will air back-to-back on May 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
