"I just want to be left the hell alone," growls the titular hero in the first trailer for Netflix and Marvel's "Luke Cage."

But someone points out, "That would be a waste." Because Luke Cage ("Jessica Jones," Luke is a bit of a loner. He doesn't want to attract attention to himself. He doesn't know why he was given these gifts, but he doesn't want to use them — until he's called upon to protect his neighborhood of Harlem.

"Daredevil") reminds Luke, "Sometimes if you want justice, you have to get it yourself."
The trailer also introduces us to the other characters that will populate Marvel's Harlem: the gangster boss Cottonmouth Stokes (Mahershala Ali), politician Mariah Dillard (Alfre Woodard), and detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick).

This is Netflix's third Marvel series; a fourth, "Iron Fist" is in the works. And then, the four superhero leads will team up for "The Defenders."

"Luke Cage" will stream on Netflix starting September 30.
