"Stranger Things" Season 3 is meant to be set in "The Summer of Love" -- at least according to Finn Wolfhard.

Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven ended Season 2 in a romance with Wolfhard's Mike Wheeler. But now MBB is focused on another couple getting together: Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Chief Hopper (David Harbour).

Aka Jopper.

David Harbour recently talked to Variety about how much he'd like to see Joyce and Hopper get together. Variety asked Millie Bobby Brown about it, and she said she is totally "shipping Jopper." She was dying to say more. But she isn't allowed to:

"I can’t say anything about this. This is so bad. Listen, I would love for them to get together. Jopper is like my inspiration in life. Winona Ryder and David Harbor are like my parents. On set, they’re like, ‘Stop running, what are you eating, why are you eating that?’ David is like, ‘Another boy?’ And in the show, if they rekindle, that means Will and Eleven will be step-siblings. I would love that because Noah [Schnapp] is my boy best friend."

Jopper is our inspiration, too. Here's more of what David Harbour had teased to Variety about Hopper and Joyce:

"I think it’d be interesting to see if Hopper has it in him to be vulnerable with a woman and to actually be able to show up in that capacity, like what kind of a man he would be in a relationship if that comes to fruition. [...] There may be other people in the mix in this situation, but I think they’re built for each other and I would love to see them get together. From the very beginning, I thought that these are two tortured, messed up, beautiful people who are like puzzle pieces that can’t stand each other but actually need each other."

So sweet. Harbour had a lot more to say to Variety, including the tease that "Fletch" is one of the movies they used as inspiration this year, for the 1985-set season.

Harbour also revealed that the father/daughter bond between Hopper and Eleven is going to be tested by puberty:

"Their relationship is going to get far more complex, because, you know, things happen to girls and boys when they’re 13 and 14. A lot of changes go on in the body and in your social life, and I don’t think he’s going to handle watching her become a woman in front of his eyes very well. That’s a horrifying thing for him — maybe even more so than fighting inter-dimensional monsters."

"Stranger Things" Season 3 is now taping for a premiere next summer 2019 on Netflix.
