"Mindhunters" will be back to explore the terrifying psychology of serial killers on Netflix in August.

Executive producer and series director David Fincher announced Season 2's premiere date — August 16 — during a podcast a podcast with "The Treatment‘s" Elvis Mitchell.

“Yes, there is now [a date],” Fincher revealed. “I’m not sure, I guess I’m allowed to say it, but, yeah, it’s gonna be the 16th.”

Season 2 of "Mindhunter" will run eight episodes bring back Jonathan​ ​Groff and Holt​ ​McCallany will return as FBI agents Holden​ ​Ford and Bill Tench. Anna Torv is also reprising her role as psychology professor Wendy Carr.

Fincher has said the story will be set in 1979-1981, during the time of the Atlanta child murders. African-American serial killer Wayne Williams was tried, convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for killing two adult males. Williams, however, was never tried for any of the child murders, but was suspected of being involved with 23 of them.
