"The Gilmore Girls" are back!

To much glee on Twitter, multiple outlets confirmed with sources that Netflix is reviving the beloved WB/CW dramedy for a four-episode limited series. It would be written by creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, who left the series prior to the final season.

The episodes would be 90 minutes each, functioning more as mini-movies; "Gilmore Girls" is reportedly a top performer for Netflix. Stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, and Kelly Bishop are all in talks to reprise their roles.

"Gilmore Girls" ran for seven seasons, from 2000-2007, originally on the WB and then on the CW. It quickly became beloved by fans for its quirky sense of humor, loving relationship between single mother Lorelai (Graham) and daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel), and the whip-smart, pop culture-referencing dialogue.

While the key stars are all likely to return for the revival, other actors like Melissa McCarthy (who played chef Sookie St. James) are big question marks. Also, Edward Hermann (Richard Gilmore) passed away last year, and his absence will undoubtedly be noted on the new episodes.

Sherman-Palladino has spoken about the possibility of a reunion before. Just at this year's ATX TV Festival in Austin, she said, "It would have to be the right everything — the right format, the right timing. If it ever happened, I promise we'll do it correctly."

Guess Netflix is doing it correctly! Now, Sherman-Palladino — who left over a contract dispute — will get to complete the series her way ... including the mysterious final four words she always intended "Gilmore Girls" to end with.
