Time to kill the killer. In the new trailer for "Halloween," Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is ready for revenge and vows to take out masked monster Michael Myers once and for all.

The trailer starts off on the titular holiday, with kids roaming darkened streets as they go trick or treating. Unbeknownst to them, Michael is lurking around and makes a terrifying stop in one home.

That spurs Laurie, shotgun in hand, to track down the killer who terrorized her 40 years prior.

The movie, directed by David Gordon Green, ignores pretty much every other film in the franchise except the 1978 original. It's a sequel and a reboot, all at once. Laurie has been a recluse since the events of the first movie, convinced Michael Myers will haunt her again. And while her daughters think she's a bit nuts, Laurie turns out to be right.

"Halloween" premieres this weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival and opens in theaters October 19.
