She also told Collider the "xXx 4" script -- as much as she's seen so far -- has a lot of great roles for the women. (Michelle Rodriguez would be proud, Vin.)

Nina Dobrev played Agent Becky Clearidge in "xXx: Return of Xander Cage," the third installment in the franchise.

Collider talked to Nina Dobrev about her new film "Dog Days," among other things, and also asked "The Vampire Diaries" alum what she's most excited about with the next "xXx" film:

"I’m just excited to reprise that role. I felt like it was a small little tidbit, but there’s so much more behind Becky. I’ve read little bits and pieces of the next script, and what I get to do in the next one is even more exciting for me, so I’m just really looking forward to getting to go on that journey again with everyone."

Collider said those movies need "really cool female characters," and her Becky was a real surprise:

"Thank you! I agree, and I promise, whatever I can do on my end, I will deliver that exact thing. Between all of the other characters, there are a lot of great female roles in this next film."

Dobrev added that the first date of production is scheduled for the end of November "if all goes well." That lines up with Variety's report from earlier this year that Diesel and company planned to start filming the fourth movie this December.

"xXx: Return of Xander Cage" had a reported production budget of $85 million and made $346 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film of the franchise to date.
