Reboots, sequels, and spinoffs can inspire "love-it-or-hate-it" reactions, but so far, "Ocean's 8" appears to be drawing more of a "love-it" response. The early box office estimates are promising as we head into the film's opening weekend.

Warner Bros. has released its numbers, and the production company expects the heist movie to break $30 million when it debuts at the North American box office this weekend, Deadline reports. Village Roadshow thinks it will do even better; the film's co-production company predicts "Ocean's 8" will top $40 million.

If the movie matches either of those predictions, it would do the Ocean's franchise proud. "Ocean's Eleven" opened to $38.1 million in 2001, according to Box Office Mojo, and its two sequels saw openings of $39.2 million and $36.1 million, respectively. A similar box office debut would certainly be a good sign for the franchise's first female-powered movie.

The heist flick has caught plenty of attention with its star-studded cast. The list of actresses includes Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, and Awkwafina. Many of them have had big box office success in the past, and we'll soon see if they can repeat it.

"Ocean's 8" opens June 8.
