Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer are teaming up again for an untitled holiday comedy, in which they play two women who hope to make it home for Christmas. The project is described as "Planes, Trains and Automobiles," with female leads. In that 1987 movie, Steve Martin and John Candy are thrown together in a journey filled with misadventures as they return to their respective homes for Thanksgiving.

Chastain co-wrote the story treatment, with Peter Chiarelli penning the script. She will also serve as a producer on the film.

The actresses previously starred together in 2011's "The Help," for which they both earned Oscar nominations. Spencer went on to win the Academy Award for best supporting actress.

Both have been in the spotlight recently for acclaimed films — Spencer for "The Shape of Water" and Chastain for "Molly's Game" — and both were Golden Globe nominees.
