What happens at Comic-Con doesn’t stay at Comic-Con anymore. Just ask Warner Bros. executives, who fumed as a "Suicide Squad" teaser intended only for conventioneers' eyes got leaked in low-quality form to the Internet over the weekend.
So on Monday, the studio and director David Ayer posted the official trailer for everybody.
"Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed," said Sue Kroll, Warner Bros. president of worldwide marketing and international distribution. "We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic-Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation."
Check out the creepy, brooding look at the movie opening next year and featuring Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne, Ben Affleck and a thoroughly unhinged Jared Leto, as the Joker, warning: “Oh, I’m not going to kill ya. I’m just to hurt ya – really, really bad.”
