Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson to Reunite for Lisa Joy's 'Reminiscence'
The upcoming film "Reminiscence" has a lot going for it, including two "Greatest Showman" stars and a "Westworld" co-creator as its director.
Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson are close to signing deals to star in Lisa Joy's upcoming film, Deadline reports. The film was written by Joy and will mark her feature directorial debut. It's a sci-fi thriller set in the near future.
Joy gave an in-depth explanation of the idea behind the film to Deadline, and it sounds intriguing. She shared that she has long been fascinated by memory, particularly the possibility of being able be nearly "transported over time" to a specific moment. Her film "posits a world where that technology does exist," she said.
Jackman will play a character named Nick Bannister, who is "kind of a P.I. of the mind." Meanwhile, Ferguson is set to portray his love, May. When she goes missing, he'll try to find answers, and viewers will see different sides of the characters and their relationship.
Principal photography is slated to begin Oct. 21. Joy is producing the film with husband Jonathan Nolan, as well as Michael De Luca and Aaron Ryder. The film is a co-production between Kilter Films, Michael De Luca Productions, and FilmNation Entertainment.
