A family that investigates aliens together stays together?

Rob Lowe and his sons, Matthew and John Owen, have some interesting travel ahead. They are set to journey across the country hunting down mysteries for "The Lowe Files," an upcoming A&E reality series. The network has ordered nine episodes, which will premiere this summer, Deadline reports.

Over the course of the season, the Lowes will look into unsolved mysteries. Apparently, Rob has long been curious about bizarre and unexplained phenomena, and his sons are just as interested.

"Since I was a kid I've loved unexplained legends, strange phenomena and the scary, supernatural stories told around campfires," the actor said in a statement. "When I became a father, I shared those tales with my two sons. Together we bonded over Bigfoot, UFOs and every creepy and bizarre story we could find, passionately debating if they were real -- or not. And we swore that someday the three of us would go on our own adventure to find out. That day has come."

If you're wondering what makes the Lowes qualified to do this, don't worry; different experts will also weigh in. On top of that, the trio is going to take in-depth training courses as well as try out cutting edge technology. It should be an interesting ride -- despite the missed opportunity to call the show "The Lowe Down."
