Megan Mullally to Host SAG Awards 2019
The Screen Actors Guild Awards will once again be emceed by a hilarious actress: Megan Mullally has been tapped to host the annual telecast.
Following in the footsteps of Kristen Bell, who was the first-ever host of the SAGs in 2018 (and who also happens to headline an NBC comedy), Mullally will oversee the 25th annual event, which will be held in Hollywood late next month. The announcement coincided with the revelation of the slate of nominees for the 2019 ceremony, which included lots of love for "A Star Is Born."
“We are delighted to have the talented, warm and funny Megan Mullally to host the SAG Awards Silver Anniversary,” said Kathy Connell, executive producer of the telecast, in a statement. “This is a very special year, and we are all looking forward to a memorable show.”
“As a frustrated casting director and full-on fangirl of great actors everywhere, I’m over the moon to be a part of the SAG Awards 25th Anniversary,” Mullally said in her own statement.
In addition to all of the accolades bestowed on the best of TV and film acting of 2018, the SAGs will also award a lifetime achievement prize to Alan Alda. The show is slated to air on Sunday, January 27 on TBS and TNT.
