"Felicity" alum "Grey's Anatomy" Season 14.

There were no details released on his role, but "Animal Kingdom." However, Deadline said Speedman was looking for a way out of that show.

Here's that part of Deadline's report:

"No one is commenting but I hear Speedman is the process of exiting TNT's Animal Kingdom though he is expected to appear in a few episodes of the series' upcoming third season to wrap up the story of his character Barry 'Baz' Blackwell."

So even though "Grey's" may not conflict with "Animal Kingdom," he may still leave the show anyway. Stay tuned on that front.

Since no one is saying yet what role Speedman might play on "Grey's," the speculation train has been running. It sounds like a few characters will be getting flashback treatment this season -- similar to Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) in her recent episode, or possibly in an even more substantial way.

lex Karev (Justin Chambers) is meant to get some spotlight time, showing his tough youth. That's why one TVLine commenter suggested Speedman might be playing Alex's drunk and drug-addicted father. But we'll see. Hopefully they don't make him Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) next love interest, 'cause she could use a romance break. And don't give him to April Kepner (Sarah Drew) either. She should just (eventually) go back to Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams).

"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
