Showtime's 'Halo' Series Casts Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief
Showtime's live-action adaptation of the video game "Halo" has found its Master Chief.
Pablo Schreiber ("American Gods," "Orange Is the New Black") is set to star as the Spartan commando described as Earth’s most advanced warrior in the 26th century.
Master Chief is the only hope of salvation for a civilization pushed to the brink of destruction by the Covenant, an unstoppable alliance of alien worlds committed to the destruction of humanity.
Joining Schreiber is Australian newcomer Yerin Ha, who was found in a worldwide casting search. She plays Quan Ah, a "shrewd, audacious 16-year-old from the Outer Colonies who meets Master Chief at a fateful time for them both."
"Halo" is one of the most popular video games of all time, selling over 77 million copies and grossing more than $60 billion worldwide since its release in 2001.
Production on the TV series begins this fall in Budapest.
