'Suspiria' Trailer Teases Moody Remake of Horror Classic
Fresh off his Oscar-nominated film "Call Me By Your Name," director Luca Guadagnino is tackling horror with a remake of the 1977 classic "Suspiria."
The first trailer for the movie shows Guadagnino is going for a very different look, switching out the technicolor of the original for a more muted palette. The tone is still ominous as it follows Dakota Johnson as a young dancer who joins a world-class company only to find it to be the worst kind of nightmare. A bone-snapping, bloody, ultra violent nightmare.
The trailer also provides a first listen to Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke's score for the movie. The original score was done by Italian prog rock band Goblin and became a classic in and of itself. Yorke's score seems more in keeping with the different tone of the remake
"Suspiria" also stars
Tilda Swinton, Chloe Grace Moretz, Mia Goth, Lutz Ebersdorf, and Jessica Harper and opens in theaters November 2.
