When Taylor Swift took to her Instagram to announce the movie, her diehard fans began prepping to snag tickets during the pre-sale. Due to the overwhelming demand for her concert, many fans were not fortunate enough to score for her show. ‘Taylor Swift: Eras Tour’ gives fans another chance to see Taylor’s show without breaking the bank - where concert tickets cost upward of thousands of dollars.

In less than three hours, the film earned a record-breaking $26 million in presales at AMC Theaters alone, surpassing ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’s pre-sale record of $16.9 million. The film opened to a staggering $96 million domestically and $128 million worldwide.

‘Taylor Swift: Eras Tour’ opened on October 13 in 3,855 theaters. Swift struck an unprecedented deal with AMC Theaters after bypassing major studios once talks have gone cold. While the artist has partnered with AMC Theaters, the film is not exclusive to AMC. It is also shown in Cinemark and Regal theaters.

Concert tickets are already hard to come by. Fans can sit all day long in the Ticketmaster queue only to be faced with a nosebleed seat with a high ticket price - if they’re lucky enough to get in the queue at all. Third-party resellers listed tickets for upwards of thousands of dollars, sometimes with seats with an obstructed view.

Reportedly, Swift was less concerned about where the movie would be shown but for her fans who weren’t able to afford to go to the concert a chance to see it in the theaters. With tickets priced at $19.89 (Swift’s birth year) for adults and $13.13 (Swift’s favorite number) for seniors and children, it is a much more cost-effective way to see her show. AMC Theater is also selling collectible Eras Tour popcorn buckets for $19.89, collectible drink cups for $9.99, and popcorn bugs for $14.99.

‘Taylor Swift: Eras Tour’ is directed by Sam Wrench and will be playing in theaters for at least four weeks.
