The three biggest stars of "The Conners" have been clear that they want to continue the series, and now they're closer to making it happen.

Sara Gilbert, John Goodman, and Laurie Metcalf have all reached new deals for Season 2, Deadline reports. They have not all signed yet, per the publication, but wrapping up negotiations is a good sign. They're now an important step closer to the sitcom's second season.

For the three main stars, there will reportedly be a pay increase. Each will make $375,000 per episode, up from $250,000 per episode, according to Deadline. The publication reports that there could be up to 13 episodes, an increase compared to Season 1's 11. Original "Roseanne" stars Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman are also expected to return, but there's no word on how much they'll be paid.

Gilbert, who is an executive producer on the series, told TVLine in January that she was "hopeful that there will be a Season 2." They appear to have prepared for it, given that the first season left questions the audience wants to see answered. Fortunately for fans, all signs are pointing toward a return. ABC is likely to renew the series when the entire cast is signed, and Deadline reports that they are expected to sign their deals soon.

"The Conners" Season 1 debuted in October. If progress continues, we can look forward to Season 2 in the near future.
