'The Favourite' Dominates British Independent Film Awards
The British Independent Film Awards certainly has a "Favourite."
The period film set in the reign of Queen Anne won a record 10 awards, including Best British Independent Film, Best Actress for Olivia Colman, Best Supporting Actress for Rachel Weisz, and Best Director for Yorgos Lanthimos.
Colman maintained her perfect record at BIFAs; this was her fourth nomination and win. She has earned rave reviews for her performance as the mercurial, demanding Queen Anne. Weisz plays her friend and lover Lady Marlborough and Emma Stone also co-stars as a maid named Abigail.
