Vanessa Hudgens is returning to Netflix this holiday season — but she won't be making another royal swap.

Hudgens starred in the holiday romantic comedy "The Princess Switch" last December, but this project isn't a sequel to that.

Instead, she's set to star in and executive produce "The Knight Before Christmas," which follows a gallant English knight who seeks out his true quest after a sorceress inadvertently sends him from the medieval era to present day. While there he soon finds himself falling for a caring high school science teacher who is disillusioned by love.

Josh Whitehouse, who has been cast as a lead in the "Game of Thrones" prequel pilot, is also starring. Production begins in April.

There is no word on whether Hudgens will make a follow-up to "The Princess Switch." It ended with her two doppleganger characters, Duchess Margaret Delacourt and Chicago baker Stacy De Novo, achieving happily ever afters. But that didn't stop "A Christmas Prince" from expanding into a now-third film. And shouldn't we find out if Stacy defends her Belgravia baking championship?
