It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It's violent, it's kind of like a western in its tone. It's just a very cool, different film."
Interesting. It was already leaked but not confirmed, until now, that "Wolverine 3" would follow "Deadpool" with an R rating. He's emphasizing how different it will be, presumably from the past two "Wolverine" films and possibly from past "X-Men" films in general. It sounds like the R may come from violence more than anything. A Western tone, though?
What do you think so far? "Wolverine 3" (which may get a different title in a bit) is being directed by James Mangold, with Jackman's co-stars including Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, and Eriq La Salle. It's currently scheduled for release March 3, 2017.
