A task involving cleaning cars is a washout for someone whose dreams of becoming Sir Alan's apprentice are expunged at the first hurdle. Panellists including multimillionaire businesswoman Gill Fielding, comedian Rufus Hound and TV presenter Carol Vorderman endeavour to find out what went wrong, and cast their eyes over the rest who are left to fight it out for the top job.

Meet the one who bit off more than they could chew when the candidates had to cater for city clients. The panel includes Masterchef's Gregg Wallace and Sir Alan's aide Nick Hewer, who question the one who went from the frying pan into the fire and cast their eyes over the ones who are left to fight another day.

The week's task of creating a new character and advert for a children's cereal proved crunch time for yet another candidate. They join comedian Jenny Eclair, retail guru Mary Portas, and the Chief Executive of Saatchi and Saatchi Fallon, Robert Senior, to chew over what went wrong.

It is time to meet the candidate who is counting the cost of failure after being tasked with pricing and selling ten disparate items. Comedian Al Murray, Antiques Roadshow expert Hilary Kay and American financial guru Alvin Hall get to the bottom of what went wrong, as well as putting a value on the remaining candidates.

Meet the latest unlucky candidate to fall foul of Sir Alan, by selling themselves short in a task to select and sell new innovative products to retailers. Meet the candidate for whom a task to rebrand Margate proved to be their Waterloo.
