The Savoy (2010) - Season 1 Episodes and Ratings

Season 1 Episodes

1. Episode 1

December 13th, 20101 hr

First of two programmes going behind the closed doors of The Savoy to chart the inner workings of the luxury hotel's renovation. General Manager Kiaran MacDonald is in charge of the project, but things do not go to plan. The original budget is soon spent and on the day of the scheduled re-opening the hotel is still a building site. Despite the efforts of construction site manager John Ferrari and his 1,000-strong workforce, the completion date slips 12 months behind the original prediction. When the official re-opening date is finally announced, every department rushes to train and prepare their staff for the big day. Butlers, cooks and front-of-house staff strive to live up to the five-star standard of service demanded, with just days before the doors open.

2. Episode 2

December 21st, 20101 hr

Second of two programmes. After a £220 million refurbishment lasting almost three years, London's Savoy Hotel is almost ready to re-open its doors. With the opulent decor now finished, the team of old hands and new recruits must ensure that the service lives up to the luxurious surroundings. From the butlers who will offer bespoke service for guests in the most expensive suites to the chefs and waiting staff in the new River Restaurant, the pressure is on. The team attempts to woo top celebrities back to the Savoy, but will the hotel live up to their expectations once they are through the door?
