"Supergirl" flew high -- very high -- in its debut last night, notching 12.9 million viewers. Even better, the CBS series earned a 3.2 share in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic. This makes it the fall's highest-rated premiere.

Of course, "Supergirl" got a very big boost from mega-hit comedy "Big Bang Theory," which won't be the case in future weeks. But it's a promising sign for CBS, and is a lift for a lackluster fall season.

CBS teased the rest of the first season of "Supergirl" in a nearly two minute trailer.
The trailer is packed with action -- Melissa Benoist flying, breathing cold air, and hurling car doors at bad guys. We also get glimpses at upcoming characters, like Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan Tatum) and villains Reactron and Red Tornado. And it seems we won't have to wait too long before Supergirl faces off against her evil aunt!
