There's insanity on the set of "Deadpool 2."

After the first photos were unveiled Tuesday and they featured a noticeable lack of Josh Brolin, the actor took matters into his own hands. He gave fans a preview of his transformation into his character, Cable, posting a picture Wednesday on Instagram that showed his face "morphing into something machine, fierce, hair sliced, arm machined, bulged." Put more clearly, he was having a face mold made to turn him into his tough, time-traveling character.

"Insanity on the brink," he wrote. "Face is morphing into something machine, fierce, hair sliced, arm machined, bulged. Where is Deadpool?!? Looking. Looking. All I got are these two...molding me, prodding, turning me into something hard."

Brolin is new to the film series, which stars Ryan Reynolds as the so-called "merc with a mouth." However, Cable is familiar to fans of the comics, given that he has appeared in them as both an enemy and an ally of Deadpool. We look forward to seeing him in either capacity alongside his cast mates Zazie Beetz, Jack Kesy, and Leslie Uggams.

"Deadpool 2" is slated for release on June 1, 2018.
