Cage gives a great performance about the shallowness and corruption of a drug-addict cop.

It'***** or miss with me and Nicolas Cage. This was a miss. I don't mind my leading man to have a few flaws in his personality, but "Bad" doesn't come close to describing this Lieutenant. As far as acting, the funky shoulder tilt thing Cage does to infer he has a bad back looks ridiculous. Everyonr knows that the tilt begins at the hips, not the shoulders. It was lame (pardon the pun).

ONE critic said he found the flick "trippy" & as it had lots of action, non-sequiturs and unexpected developments, I guess that suits. The Bad Lt. wore a bad rug thruout, and amazingly it never did come off. He laughed like a hyena @ jokes no one else got, was willing to pimp his lady, was stoned all the time on what he'd taken off others. I believed in Eva moreso than Nick, & think it poetic

Relentlessly depressing. Sleaze, sleaze, sleaze. Did not hold my interest, so I left.
