This is such a touching story about finding your own true path and not letting anyone get you off of it regardless of your community and family pressuring you with \"How odd!\" The lead is... very believable and fun to watch as he learns to dance. It is so very triumphant. Enjoy! Full Review

I love the art of Ballet, and think the greatest and most well -known talent in that craft is actor Michail Baryshnikov; In this film, the viewer sees how strong a "push" dance can be.Billy Elliot (Jami... e Bell)'s father works as a miner in England,as most of the men do.When Billy wrestles,he hears the girls' ballet class and falls in love wih the art. Julie Walters plays the dance instructor who starts a fire in Billy's heart for dance. On the sly,the boy hides his practice from dad (Gary Lewis) and thinks all his friends will call him a "sissy". The teacher tries to give Billy a shot at a Conservatory of Ballet, and Billy follows his heart. Soon, Dad learns about the boy's conniving and berates him. When the boy aces the second tryout,he "makes the grade". I enjoyed the ending of the film, because Billy finally makes his father proud and follows the star he dreams on . As you see him leap in the air, you realize it is his future and passion. Full Review
