  • Solidly crafted, impeccably acted and self-important in the way that Oscar loves, Extremely Loud is also incredibly close to exploitation. show more

  • It's a far better thing to remember Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close than to watch it. Looking back, much of what is irritating, precious and tiresome about the movie recedes and drops away, while all the movie's virtues, which are considerable, rise to consciousness. There are good things here - just be prepared to blast for them. show more

  • In Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, director Stephen Daldry must walk a tricky line between poignancy and pathos. He occasionally slips into maudlin turf. show more

Unpredictable, serious and disturbing. And at times somewhat unclear. Oddly the film is carried by the kid, disappointingly, not the beloved stars, He did a great job, but was strangely unappealing. True, not much action, and the concept of meeting with over 400 New Yorkers seemed implausible. This crier only shed a few tears (at the end), and I can't honestly say I enjoyed the movie. But it had beauty and power and love. And probably some truth. Worth your time if you like this sort of thing. If you are looking for excitement or fun entertainment, maybe not.

At first it was slow and annoying to watch, but it quickly became refreshing and rewarding. www.moviezya.com

Really good movie. It was approached differently than most movies are. The story line is awesome and sandra bullock is a great actress!
