Plot Summary
College dropout Steve Jobs (Ashton Kutcher), together with his friend, technical whiz-kid Steve Wozniak (Josh Gad), sparks a revolution in home computers with the invention of the Apple 1 in 1976. Built in the garage of Jobs' parents, the device -- and the subsequent formation of Apple Inc. -- have changed the world for all time. Though he is viewed as a visionary, Jobs' tenure as Apple's leader is a rocky one, leading to his eventual ouster from the company he co-founded.

  • Jobs is a one-man show that needed to go for broke and doesn't. My guess is that Jobs would give it a swat. show more

  • Jobs is a just-the-facts - and fiddling-with-the-facts - dramatization, forgoing any kind of deeper psychological exploration of the man and his motivations, his demons and dreams. show more

  • The filmmakers do fall into the trap of overly sentimentalizing a widely beloved public figure who represents an enormous cultural significance. At the same time, however, they keep the movie frequently engaging. show more
