Sitting through New Year's Eve is like attending a crowded party filled with pretty people who have nothing to say. show more

It would be inaccurate to say there are plots in New Year's Eve. There are a number of setups, and these get shuffled through faster than a card dealer in Atlantic City. show more

An inferior retread of Marshall's equally contrived "Valentine's Day," only dressed up with coats and confetti. show more

The result proves to be as appealing and effervescent as a flute of flat champagne. show more

At its heart, Garry Marshall's New Year's Eve is soup made of rocks. show more

Less a film than a product, New Year's Eve is so carefully calculated as to be, in its own way, admirable. show more

I always enjoy Elizondo; he has a way of elevating some pretty lame banter, and thanks to New Year's Eve he has his way all over again. show more

New Year's Eve is not unbearable. It's not bad, but it's not good, either. It delivers exactly what you expect: pretty faces, shallow romance and a mythical fanaticism about an event in a friendly Manhattan unblemished by hyper-vigilant security measures, obnoxious drunks or New York Jets fans. show more

This movie is GREAT - original, FUNNY, poignant, uplifting, sad and surprising all in one. Great acting by everyone involved and talk about a star-studded cast. And, lest we forget the main star...my home town photographed in all its beauty...New York City! Run, don\'t walk, to see this gem before it leaves the theater. Big screen viewing mandatory!

Don\'t listen to the critics. This movie is a feel-good, fun, sweet movie. It\'s got something for everyone. What a relief to watch a movie that I could take my teenagers to and not feel embarassed by something sexual or inappropriate. Go today especially with all the fun info about New Years Eve in Times Square.
